Happy New Year! And … a lil’ help please?

As I planned my own wedding, I developed some pretty strong opinions about sites like TheKnot and WeddingWire, which is simply: “ain’t nobody got time for that!”

Truly, these sites are not built for busy people who don’t have tons of free time to scroll through endless articles that are more distracting than they are useful.

In fact, many wedding planning sites are full of:

  • distracting ads that are often irrelevant
  • superficial articles that don’t offer realistic advice
  • generic to-do lists that are impossible to follow
  • ridiculous DIY projects that you don’t have time or energy for

Goodbye 2017 + why I created a wedding planning blog for busy people

Where did 2017 go, right?  I’m sure you’re tired of hearing folks say, “I can’t believe it’s the end of the year!”  Me too, but I feel the same way 😛

Wedding planning is tough – it takes a lot of work.  Even if you’re having a “simple” wedding – it still takes a lot of time and effort to make it happen.  It can take over your life if you’re not careful!

The other day I searched Google for some stats about wedding planning stress, but the most interesting information I found was actually in the list of related Google searches:

Beat wedding planning stress with some self-care. Here’s ONE simple and easy thing you can do to practice some self-care as you plan your wedding.

These are actual searches that people have typed into Google.  Yikes.   [Read more…]

Wedding Planning + Positive Psychology

Dealing with jerks at work…

We’ve all been there. Whether it’s a client, a coworker, or even a boss – we’ve all had to work with difficult people. A negative experience can really deplete your energy, slow down productivity, and when it’s all over, you hope you don’t have to work with that person again as long as you can help it!

Wouldn’t you rather work with someone who’s nice and actually appreciates your work? Often, the working relationship has nothing to do with the work itself – rather, a positive working relationship has everything to do with the people involved.

Today, I’m writing all about how positive psychology and plain ol’ kindness can make your overall wedding planning experience more pleasant. [Read more…]
